Tony Cassata

Our next meeting is at Colony Cottage Recreation Center on October 7 at 7 p.m. when Smokey Yunick's legacy takes center stage.

Join us for an unforgettable evening with guest speaker Tony Cassata, a lifelong Smokey Yunick guru visiting us from Ormond Beach.

Smokey Yunick was NASCAR's untouchable master of "creative rules interpretation" and a legendary, persistent thorn in the side of NASCAR founder Bill France.

During this special presentation, Tony will share:

  • The Tribute Car: The story behind his own tribute to Yunick's infamous No. 13 1966 Chevelle. Though it never raced a single lap in NASCAR, it has earned honored display space at both the NASCAR Hall of Fame in Charlotte and Daytona's Motorsports Hall of Fame of America.
  • The Memorial Monument: How years of persistent effort finally led to the dedication of a permanent monument honoring Yunick. Standing just steps from the former site of Yunick's iconic Best Damn Garage in Town, the monument was brought to life through Tony’s personal dedication alongside the Motor Racing Heritage Association.

Don't miss this inside look at the life, controversy, and mechanical genius of one of motorsport's most enduring legends!

Meetings are open only to club members, but Villages residents are welcome to join at the door. Click Here for more membership information.
