Club president Gerry Greim grew up surrounded by racing, as her father was involved in sprint car racing, and she developed a lifelong passion for the sport.

Despite never pursuing racing herself, Greim had a successful nursing career, especially in hospice care, and became known as a "hospice angel" for her work with terminally ill patients.

Gerry was featured in The Villages Daily Sun because her current neighbors and friends know how she has helped encourage more female participation and speakers in the club. Nursing is her "backstory."
